$2 Taste of Fair Food Every Friday, noon – 4 pm

Get a sampling of the tasty food at the Orange County Fair for only $2 each.  Fun-sized samples include funnel cake, BBQ tri-tip, lemonade, cinnamon rolls, corn dogs, tacos, gelato, cotton candy and more.

Bacon A-Fair

At the Orange County Fair Bacon A-Fair, choose from bacon-wrapped turkey legs, deep-fried beer-battered bacon-wrapped hot dogs or the Smokey Porkabello, a bacon-wrapped mushroom with smoked gouda, truffle gouda bacon fries, cheesy bacon bombs, and wild boar bacon on a stick. New this year is Bacon-Wrapped Jack Daniels, a unique churro concoction with a little whiskey kick at the end (non-alcoholic).

Texas Donuts

Texas Donuts is at the OC Fair with its popular giant donuts and has some new flavors including Peanut Butter Cup, Cherry Pop Rocks, and Banana Chocolate Cream.

Chicken Charlie

If you like your food deep-fried, battered and on a stick, the Orange County Fair is the place for you.  Chicken Charlie takes fried food to the next level by deep-frying a wide variety of items such as a bacon-wrapped pickle, cookie dough, cereal, Oreos, frog legs, Twinkies, and more. This year Chicken Charlie is introducing deep-fried Doritos and deep fried chicken skin.

Apollo’s Greek

Greek Food including kabobs, pita, falafel, hummus, greek salad and baklava.

Australian Battered Potatoes

World famous Australian battered potatoes with toppings.

Juicy’s Outlaw Grill

The world’s largest outdoor barbecue (an 83 foot grill hauled by a big rig that can cook 1,500 giant turkey legs at once) offering half-pound burgers, giant sausages, turkey legs, sausages, fries and funnel cakes.

Pink’s Hot Dogs

Ghirardelli Dog (beef dog topped with cream cheese, honey mustard, crumbled bacon and dark chocolate).

Pineapple Express

Not into deep-fried food?  Then visit the Orange County Fair Pineapple Express which features cored out pineapples filled with shrimp cocktail, grilled shrimp, chicken and more.

Biggy’s Meat Market

Big Chic on a Stick (a 24oz. chicken breast) and Biggy Sausage (2-foot-long smoked sausage). This year Biggy’s will also have gluten free options including hamburger buns, giant curly fries & a gluten free The Big Rib (a two-pound beef rib on a 17-inch bone, with your choice of homemade sauce).

Chef Challenge: Cooking With the Elements

Watch local culinary professionals show off their chops and go head-to-head in a series of live cooking challenges at the Orange County Fair involving cooking with an element: July 18 (Earth), July 25 (Water), August 1 (Air) and August 8 (Fire). Each challenge is at 7 pm in the OC Fair Promenade. Free with OC Fair admission.

Celebrity Chefs

The OC Fair has celebrity chefs for three demonstrations and autograph signings in The Hangar which are free with Orange County Fair admission.

Carla Hall is chef and owner of Carla Hall Petite Cookies, co-hosts ABC’s “The Chew” and appeared on “Top Chef.” Watch Carla’s French and Southern cooking style live at the OC Fair on Thursday, July 17 at 4 p.m.

Roy Choi operates multiple restaurants in Los Angeles, including Chego!, A-Frame and Sunny Spot. Roy is best known for his taco truck Kogi BBQ that specializes in Mexican and Korean cuisine. Watch Roy’s creative Latin-Asian fusion cooking live at the OC Fair on Thursday, July 24 at 4 pm.

Kelsey Nixon competed on “The Next Food Network Star” and is currently host of “Kelsey’s Essentials” on the Cooking Channel. Kelsey has been a private chef, taught lessons at Sur La Table and created dishes for various chain restaurants. Watch Kelsey’s simple but tasting cooking methods live at the OC Fair on Thursday, July 31 at 4 pm.

Food Contests & Exhibits at the Orange County Fair

The Promenade area at the Orange County Fair will feature food workshops and exhibits designed to teach modern cooking techniques, food preserving, baking, and more.  OC Fair demonstration areas will be open daily.  Enthusiastic instructors, local chefs, and other food professionals will share their skills and ideas in an interactive and informal way.

Daily free eating contests are held on the OC Fair Explorium Stage at 6:30 pm (pre-register at 6 pm) for children ages 5 – 18. 

Wine Tasting and Seminars

Attend a wine seminar or sample an array of award winning wine from the OC Fair Wine Competition presented by the Orange County Wine Society. Wine is available for purchase by the taste or the glass.

OC Brew Hee Haw

The 1st Annual Orange County Brew Hee Haw will be held Friday, July 11 – Sunday, July 13. Admission to the Brew Hee Haw is $55 and includes admission to the OC Fair.

The OC Brew Hee Haw features over 60 craft beer selections, beer demos, a commemorative festival glass, music and more. For more info go to ocbrewheehaw.com.
