$2 Taste of Fair Food Every Friday, noon-4 pm
Get a sampling of the tasty food at the Orange County Fair for only $2 each. Fun-sized samples include funnel cake, BBQ tri-tip, lemonade, cinnamon rolls, corn dogs, tacos, gelato, cotton candy and more.
Food Truck Fare at the Orange County Fair Every Thursday, noon-10 pm
The Orange County Fair will mix-up the food offerings for visitors by hosting gourmet food trucks offering not-your-average Orange County Fair food items like creative grilled cheese sandwiches, gourmet sliders, bacon delicacies and more. Access to the food trucks is free with Orange County Fair admission and food prices vary per truck. Food trucks will be located near the Livestock area. Featured trucks will include A Bite Truck, Baconmania, The Burnt Truck, Chunk N Chip, Cousins Maine Lobster, Dogzilla, Dos Chinos, Garliscscapes, Lobsta Truck, Piaggio On Wheels, Ragin Cajun, Share Mii Snow Ice, The Lime Truck, TJ’s Woodfired Pizza, Waffles de Liege, and White Rabbit.
If you like your food deep-fried, battered and on a stick, the Orange County Fair is the place for you. Chicken Charlie takes fried food to the next level by deep-frying a wide variety of items such as a bacon-wrapped pickle, cookie dough, cereal, peanut butter and jelly, spam, pineapple and more.
At the Orange County Fair Bacon A-Fair, choose from bacon-wrapped turkey legs, deep-fried beer-battered bacon-wrapped hot dogs or the Smokey Porkabello, a bacon-wrapped mushroom with smoked gouda, truffle gouda bacon fries, cheesy bacon bombs, and wild boar bacon on a stick.

Big Chic on a Stick (a 24oz. chicken breast) and Biggy Sausage (2-foot-long smoked sausage).
Pink’s Hot Dogs
Ghirardelli Dog (beef dog topped with cream cheese, honey mustard, crumbled bacon and dark chocolate).
Not into deep-fried food? Then visit the new Orange County Fair Pineapple Express (courtesy of Chicken Charlie) which features cored out pineapples filled with shrimp cocktail, grilled shrimp, chicken and more.
The Big Rib
Calling all carnivores! Looking to feed your wild side? Come to the Orange County Fair Biggy’s Meat Market for The Big Rib, a two-pound beef rib on a 17-inch bone, with your choice of homemade sauce.
The Orange County Fair presents two shows in The Hangar featuring dynamic celebrity chefs demonstrating their culinary talents. Scheduled appearances include chefs Jaime & Ramiro of La Casita Restaurant on Saturday, July 20, and Chef Michael Chiarello of Bottega & Coqueto Restaurant on Thursday, August 1. Free with Orange County Fair admission.
Food Contests & Exhibits at the Orange County Fair
The Promenade area at the OC Fair will feature food workshops and exhibits designed to teach modern cooking techniques, food preserving, baking, and more. Demonstration areas will be open daily. Enthusiastic instructors, local chefs, and other food professionals will share their skills and ideas in an interactive and informal way.
Daily free eating contests are held in the Orange County Fair Fun Zone Tent at 6:30 pm for children. Orange County Fair visitors of all ages can compete in the nightly Knott’s Pie Eating Contest on the Promenade Stage at 7 pm (registration begins 6:30 pm).
Each Saturday, Orange County Fair visitors have the chance to compete in the Culinary Arts Special Contests, which are judged live at the Orange County Fair for the best cookies, cupcakes, chili and hometown dish (online entry registration is the Wednesday before each contest - visit ocfair.com/competitions for information and to register).
Get Sweet - This popular exhibit explores the history of chocolate. Come learn how chocolate is made, from the bean to the bar. Complete with demonstrations by Xan Confections.
Watch local culinary professionals show off their chops and go head-to-head in a series of live cooking challenges set to various themes every Thursday in the OC Promenade: Meatheads (July 18), Time to Make The Donuts (July 25), Firehouse Chefs (August 1) and Vegan (August 8). Winners will receive bragging rights and an award to commemorate their culinary victory. Viewing is free with Fair admission.
