Huntington Harbour Boat Parade

The Huntington Harbour Boat Parade event takes place on Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8, at Huntington Harbour in Huntington Beach, California. Boats decorated with holiday lights and animations will parade around the Huntington Harbour in a grand exhibition.

The Huntington Harbour Boat Parade event starts at 5:15 pm (boats will begin lining up at 4:30 pm). It takes about 2 1/2 hours for the boat parade to wind its way through all of the channels in the Huntington Harbour.

The Huntington Harbour Boat Parade route begins near the corners of Humboldt Island and Gilbert Island, proceeds north toward Seabridge and Portofino, turns around at the marina fuel dock and heads south circling around Gilbert Island, then heads south again past Coral Cay and then circles around Davenport Island with a side trip in Weatherly Bay, then heads north again circling around Humboldt Island and finishing at Seagate.

There are many great viewing areas to watch the parade including: public parks such as Trinidad Park at 3601 Sagamore Lane, French Park at 3464 Venture Drive, or Prince View Point Park at 3302 Venture Drive; public beaches around the main channel edges of Trinidad Island, Humboldt Island and Davenport Islands; Peters Landing Marina area; and some of the roadway bridges.

Judging takes place at the Huntington Harbour Boat Parade event on December 7, and trophy presentations takes place the day of the Huntington Harbour Boat Parade event on December 8.

The Huntington Harbour Boat Parade marks the official start of the Cruise of Lights fundraiser by the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic. The Cruise of Lights fundraiser includes the Huntington Harbour Cruise of Lights cruises which run December 14, 15 & 19-23.

The annual December Huntington Harbour Cruise of Lights is the main funding program for the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Committee. The Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Committee is one of 23 committees supporting the Philharmonic Society of Orange County. The mission of the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Committee is to foster, promote and increase the knowledge and appreciation of the arts by the residents of Orange County through the presentation of performances by musical artists of national and international stature and the development and implementation of a wide variety of music education outreach programs.

Major holiday events in Huntington Beach include the Light a Light of Love Huntington Beach Pier Lighting, the Huntington Beach Christmas Tree Lighting, the Huntington Harbour Boat Parade, the Drive-Thru Nativity and the Huntington Harbour Cruise of Lights.
