Bolsa Chica Wetlands Tour – First Saturday
Bolsa Chica Wetlands Tours are offered by the Amigos de Bolsa Chica docents on the first Saturday of each month from 9 am to 10:30 am. Amigos de Bolsa Chica docents gather at the south lot of the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, across the street from the main entrance to Bolsa Chica State Beach in Huntington Beach, California. Docents are stationed on or near the footbridge, a truly magnificent entrance to the restored Bolsa Chica wetlands.
Bolsa Chica Wetlands Tours begin every 15 minutes and five areas of interest are included in the tour presentation: history, birds, endangered species, ecology and restoration. This free wetlands tour is on a first come, first served basis. This is a wonderful opportunity for vacationers, students, small groups and local citizens to visit this valuable Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve.

Stewards work days are 9 am to noon, the 1st Sunday of each month and the 3rd Saturday of each month.
Bird Tour of Bolsa Chica Wetlands – Last Saturday
If your primary interest is birds, the Bolsa Chica Wetlands Tour on birds takes place the last Saturday of each month at 9:00 am. The Bolsa Chica Wetlands provides a feeding and nesting habitat for thousands of birds and is considered one of the prime birding sites in Southern California. The variety of bird species changes throughout the year as they migrate during each season. You will be led by Amigos de Bolsa Chica docent and birder Greg Leo.
